Child Safety Standards — Policy Against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)

These Child Safety Standards apply to the dating app PING – spot. ping. date. (“PING”), published on Google Play and the App Store by ping UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Mundsburger Damm 20, 22087 Hamburg, Germany. They form a binding part of our Terms of Use and describe how we prevent, detect and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).

1. Zero tolerance for CSAE

Child sexual abuse and exploitation is expressly prohibited on PING. We operate a zero-tolerance policy: CSAE content and CSAE conduct result in no warning and no second chance – the accounts involved are permanently banned.

The following are expressly prohibited:

  • creating, uploading, storing, requesting, sharing, promoting or linking to child sexual abuse material (CSAM);
  • any sexualisation of minors, including sexualised text, images, drawings, comics, AI-generated or otherwise synthetically created content;
  • soliciting sexual contact from minors or building trust with a minor for that purpose (grooming);
  • sexual extortion of minors (sextortion), including threatening to publish intimate imagery;
  • child trafficking, child prostitution and any form of commercial sexual exploitation of minors, including offering or seeking such services;
  • attempting to contact minors through PING, and directing users to other services for any of the purposes listed above;
  • tolerating or failing to report suspicious content or activities, and supporting or endorsing individuals engaged in such activities.

2. PING is an adults-only service

PING may only be used by persons aged 18 or older. Minors are not permitted to use PING or to create an account. If we become aware that an account is operated by a minor, or that profile content depicts a minor, the account is suspended and deleted.

During sign-up we perform a liveness and image check with face matching, to make fake profiles harder to create and to ensure that profile pictures show the person who actually registered.

3. Reporting violations

Every user can report and block profiles and content directly in the app: the profile menu offers a “block and report” action with a reason, including “sexual harassment” and “objectionable content”. Reports reach us immediately.

Suspected CSAE can also be reported at any time, anonymously and without a PING account:

All reports are treated confidentially and CSAE reports are handled with the highest priority.

4. How we respond

Once we obtain actual knowledge of CSAM or other CSAE content on PING, we:

  • remove the content from the service without delay;
  • permanently suspend and delete the accounts involved and prevent re-registration;
  • preserve the necessary evidence and account data to the extent legally permitted and required;
  • report confirmed CSAM to the competent authorities – to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline, and to the competent German law enforcement authorities (Bundeskriminalamt or local police);
  • cooperate with law enforcement authorities and provide the information required to identify and prosecute offenders, within the framework of applicable law.

We comply with applicable child safety laws and regulations, in particular German criminal law, German youth protection law and the General Data Protection Regulation.

6. Additional safeguards

  • Verification: liveness check with face matching during profile creation, to prevent fake profiles and the use of other people’s photos.
  • Blocking: users can block other people at any time; contact is then no longer possible.
  • Visibility: users control who can see their profile and location.
  • Review of reports: incoming reports are reviewed by us and violations are enforced with account bans.
